चाँदनी रात है
एक प्यारी सी बात है
हाथों में चाय का प्याला है
आपके आगमन से जीवन में उजाला है
यही बैठे हुए
चाय की चुस्कियाँ लगाते हैं
जबभी आपका खयाल आता है
मन ही मन मुस्कुराते हैं ।
यूँ तारों का टिम-टिमाना
आपकी आखें याद दिलाता है
चाँद पर नज़र जाए तो
आपका चेहरा नज़र आता है
कुछ तो बात है
इस चाँद की चाँदनी में
आपकी झलक दिखाता है
मेरा दिल भी बहलाता है ।
काश ऐसा होता
ये दूरियाँ ही न होती
इस चाँदनी रात में
मेरे साथ आप होती
हाथों में आपका हाथ होता
जीवन में आपका साथ होता
एक साथ चलते इस जीवन की राह पर
जीना भी साथ होता और
मरना भी साथ होता ।

Chandni raat hai (It is a full moon night)
Ek pyaru si baat hai (I have something lovely to say)
Hatho mein chai ka pyala hai (I have a cup of tea in my hands)
Apke agman se jeevan mein ujala hai (Your arrival has lightened up my life)
Yahi baithe hue (While sitting here)
Chai ki chuskiyan lagate hain (We sip tea)
Jab bhi apka khayal ata hai (Whenever I think about you)
Man hi man muskurate hain (I smile in my heart)
Yu taaro ka timtimana (The twinkling of the stars)
Apki ankhein yad dilata hai (Makes me remember your eyes)
Chand par nazar jaye to (Whenever I look at the moon)
Apka chehra nazar ata hai (I see your face)
Kuch to baat hai (There is something great)
Is chand ki chandni mein (About the moon’s light)
Apki jhalak dikhata hai (It shows your glimpse)
Mera dil bhi behlata hai (It also entertains my heart)
Kash aisa hota (I wish) काश ऐसा होता
Ye duriyan hi na hoti (Our separation did not exist)
Is chandni raat mein (In this full moon night)
Mere sath aap hoti (You would have been by my side)
Hatho mein apka hath hota (Your hand would have been in mine)
Jeevan mein apka sath hota (I had your company in my life)
Ek sath chalte is jeevan ki rah par (We would have walked together on this path of life)
Jeena bhi sath hota aur (We would have lived together and)
Marna bhi sath hota (died together)
