कविता का भावार्थ:
यह कविता एक प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी के विषय में लिख रही है। कविता का शीर्षक “गलती” यह बतला रहा है कि प्रेमिका को अपने प्रेमी के साथ सम्बद्ध टूट जाने पर बहुत अफ़सोस है। इसी कारण वह इस घटना को एक गलती बता रही है। प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी को यह भी सन्देश दे रही है कि यह गलती केवल उसकी अकेले की नहीं, बल्कि दोनों की बराबर थी। कविता में प्रेम के मिलन की झांकी है एवं विरह की वेदना भी स्पष्ट दिखाई पड़ती है।

Teri Yaadein (Your Memories)
Ulfat hai teri ki yeh bahein tujhe pukaarti hain, (I am dying to take you in my arms)
Har roz teri chahat mein ye tanhai mujhe darati hai, (My loneliness scares me every day when I lovingly remember you)
Khuda kare ye mohabbat tujhe bhi ek baar mile, (I pray to God that you also fall in love once)
Ye dard jo mujhe mila hai tujhe har baar mile, (The pain I got, you get it every time)
Toote tarey ki chamak bhi nahi chupa sakte, (You cannot hide the brightness of a shooting star(comet))
Ye dard jo seene me hai tumhein bhee nahi bata sakte, (Similarly, I cannot explain the pain in my heart)
Socha tha ki wafa mile gi wafa ke badle, (I had thought you will be faithful to me)
Lekin tune is dil mein bebasi bhardi, (But you disappointed me)

आप की यादें(कविता का शीर्षक) चाँदनी रात है एक प्यारी सी बात है हाथों में चाय का प्याला है आपके आगमन से जीवन में उजाला है यही बैठे हुए चाय की चुस्कियाँ लगाते हैं जबभी आपका खयाल आता है मन ही मन मुस्कुराते हैं ।
