कुछ तो असर है ज़िन्दगी में तेरी दुआओं का,
कि ग़म बहुत है, आँखें भी नम है,
फिर भी जिए जा रहे हैं, धीरे धीरे ही सही पर दो घूँट पीए जा रहे हैं,
एक नीला सा आसमान है, कहने को तो सारा जहान है,
पर तेरे बिना सब मंजर बंजर सब रेगिस्तान है,
ये अहसास मेरे दिल का तेरे दिल से यूं ना जाएगा,
मेरी यादों का ज़र्रा ज़र्रा किस्सा मेरा तुझे सुनाएगा,
मेरी आँखों से गिरता हर एक आँसूं मेरी कहानी तुझे बताएगा,
कहने को तो ज़िन्दगी नदी की बहती एक धारा है,
किस्मत वाले हैं वो जिन्हें मिल जाए जो मिलना किनारा है,
मुक्कमल हो जाए तेरा साथ मेरे साथ में, शायद मेरे हाथ में वो लकीर ही नहीं,
धन दौलत है बहुत पर तेरा साथ ही नहीं, चलो फिर तेरे लिए एक फकीर ही सही,
ये रौशनी, ये हवा, ये ज़िंदगानी सब तेरी ही तो है,
ये कहानी वो जवानी, मेरी रवानी तेरी ही तो है,
तू आकर मेरी यादों में मुझे न गमगीन कर
बहुत मुश्किल से सीखा है जीना, इस तरह से मेरी ज़िन्दगी को न नमकीन कर,
तू कहे तो तेरे नाम को अमर मैं कर दूँ,
मेरा कुछ मोल ना सही तेरी नज़रों में,
पर तू कहे तो कोहिनूर तुझे कर दूँ,
लोग भरते है सागर में गागर, पर तू कहे तो संग जी के तेरे साथ
गागर में सागर मैं भर दूँ।।।।

Kuch To Asar Hai (Title of the Poem)
Kuch to asar hai zindagi mein teri duaon ka, (Your kind wishes have made some impact on my life)
Ki gam bahut hai, ankhein bhi nam hai, (There are so many griefs and my eyes are also wet)
Phir bhi jiye ja rahe hain, dheere-dheere hi sahi par do ghut piye ja rahe hain, (Still I am carrying on with my life and drinking this poison slowly sip by sip)
Ek neela sa asmaan hai, kehne ko to saara jahaan hai, (The sky appears blue and the entire world is there for you)
Par tere bina jab manzar banjar sab registan hai, (But without you every destination is like a barren land, a desert)
Ye ehsas mere dil ka tere dil se yu na jayega, (My feelings won’t disappear from your heart so easily)
Meri yaado ka zarra zarra kissa mere tujhe sunayega, (Each particle of my memories will recite a story to you)
Meri ankho se girta har ek ansu meri kahani tujhe batayega, (Each tear falling from my eye will tell you my story)
Kehne ko to zindagi nadi ki behti ek dhara hai, (Life is life a flowing river)
Kismat wale hain wo jinhein mil jaye jo milna kinara hai, (Fortunate are those who have met their life goals)
Mukammal ho jaye tera sath mere sath mein, shayad mere hath mein wo lakeer hi nahi, (May be your company is not in my destiny)
Dhan daulat hai bahut par tera sath hi nahi, chalo phir tere liye ek fakeer hi sahi, (I have a lot of material wealth, but I do not have your company; I am like a beggar for you)
Ye roshni, ye hawa, ye zindgani sab teri hi to hai, (This light, this wind, this life- all are yours)
Ye kahani wo jawani, meri ravani teri hi to hai, (This story, our youth, my enthusiasm are all yours)
Tu akar meri yaado mein mujhe na gamkeen kar, (Please do not make me sad by appearing in my memories)
Bahut mushkil se seekha hai jeena, is tarha se meri zindagi ko namkeen na kar, (I have learnt living without you with a great difficulty, please do not make my life tougher)
Tu kahe to tere naam ko amar main kar du, (If you say I can make your name immortal)
Mera kuch mol na sahi teri nazro mein, (I may not have any value in your eyes)
Par tu kahe to kohinoor tujhe kar du, (But if you say I can turn you into a Kohinoor (diamond))
Log bharte hain sagar mein gagar, par tu kahe to sang ji ke tere sath, (People fill their pots from ocean, but if you say, while living with you)
Gagar mein sagar main bhar du (I can गागर में सागर मैं भर दूँ।।।।
