कविता का भावार्थ:
यह कविता एक प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी के विषय में लिख रही है। कविता का शीर्षक “गलती” यह बतला रहा है कि प्रेमिका को अपने प्रेमी के साथ सम्बद्ध टूट जाने पर बहुत अफ़सोस है। इसी कारण वह इस घटना को एक गलती बता रही है। प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी को यह भी सन्देश दे रही है कि यह गलती केवल उसकी अकेले की नहीं, बल्कि दोनों की बराबर थी। कविता में प्रेम के मिलन की झांकी है एवं विरह की वेदना भी स्पष्ट दिखाई पड़ती है।

जो होता है अच्छे के लिये होता है बड़ी चाहत थी कि मैं भी इश्क कर लूं, चांद- तारे तोड़ लाने की बाते कर लूं। तेरी हर मुश्किलों में साथ निभाता रहूं, जन्मों-जनम तक मैं तेरा ही रहूं। फिर वो सुहानी सी मौसम की घड़ी आयी, दिल में एक आशा की किरण लायी। सोचा चलो इज़हार कर दूं आज, दिनों बाद आयी थी हिम्मत आज। मैंने कहा, ना जी सकूंगा तुम बिन, तड़प रहा मैं जैसे मछली पानी बिन। माना कि आज मैं एक गरीब किसान हूँ, पर कभी आंसू आने न दूंगा ये वादा करता हूँ। “अपनी औकात में रह” कहकर वो मना कर गयी, बड़े घमण्ड से प्यार को ठुकरा वो चली गयी। प्यार-व्यार सब अपने लिये नहीं यह सोच, ज़िन्दगी की राह में मैं अकेला निकल पड़ा। कुछ वर्षों बाद बंगला-गाड़ी,पैसा आ गया, मैं अपनी जिंदगी जीना सीख गया। वो जहां कल थी वहीं आज है, मैंने तरक्की की ऊंचाई पा ली है। हर अंधेरी रात बाद नया दिन आता है, किसी ने सच ही कहा है, जो होता है अच्छे के लिये होता है। जो होता है अच्छे के लिये होता है। –एम.पी. सांरवां, नारायणपुर

Jo Hota Hai Acche Ke Liye Hota Hai Badi chahat thi ki main bhi ishq kar lu, (I wish I could also fall in love) Chand taarey tod laane ki baat kar lu. (I could talk about plucking moon and stars from the sky) Teri har mushkilo mein sath nibhata rahu, (I could stand by your side in every adversity) Janmo-Janam tak main tera hi rahu. Ulfat hai teri ki yeh bahein tujhe pukaarti hain, (I am dying to take you in my arms)
Har roz teri chahat mein ye tanhai mujhe darati hai, (My loneliness scares me every day when I lovingly remember you)
Khuda kare ye mohabbat tujhe bhi ek baar mile, (I pray to God that you also fall in love once)
Ye dard jo mujhe mila hai tujhe har baar mile, (The pain I got, you get it every time)
Toote tarey ki chamak bhi nahi chupa sakte, (You cannot hide the brightness of a shooting star(comet))
