तुम्हें पता है कौन हो तुम
मेरे जिंदगी की अनछुई परछाई हो तुम
समझता मैं भी अजनबी था तुझे,
मिला मुझे खुद का पता जब न था,
मिली जब पनाह तेरे प्यार की,
छोड़ हक़ीक़त सपनों में खो गया,
मिला तेरा साथ तो अपनों का हो गया,
बिताये हर एक पल ग़मों से दूर रहा मैं,
रहता जिस गुरुर में था मैं,
उससे दूर रहा मैं,
मुझे नहीं पता क्या सीखा तुमने मुझसे,
मगर इस दिल ने सीखा बहुत तुझसे,
सपनों की हक़ीक़त,
हक़ीक़त का टूटना,
ज़िन्दगी की सच्चाई,
और दिल का रूठना,
अब इससे ज़्यादा क्या बताये ये दिल
प्यार और इबादत की तालीम हो तुम
आज जाना मेरी अधूरी जिंदगी में मीठा सवाब हो तुम,
इस दिल की नहीं तुम,
ऊपर वाले की प्यारी रचना हो तुम,
ये तारीफ नहीं जुबां की,
बस वाक्या है मेरे दिल का,
रहे मेरे पास शायद वजह यही है मेरे सिर झुकाने की,
रहे तू हमेशा मेरी ज़रूरत नहीं मुझे ये बताने की,
यूं निगाहों से नहीं चाहा कभी तुझे,
ये दिल तुझपे निसार था,
ज़िन्दगी पर किसी का हक ये गवारा मुझे न था,
पर पाबंदिया उसूलों से अच्छी होंगी,
ये वक़्त से ज़्यादा तूने बताया था,
रहे उस सोने की तरह जो ढल जाता सांचे में,
रहूँ मैं उस साँचे जैसा ढले जिसकी आस में,
क्योंकि माँ तो नहीं मगर ज़िन्दगी की अंतिम सांस है तू,
आज हक़ीक़त को जाना,
ज़िन्दगी के हर किनारे का साथ है तू,
ये शब्द नहीं जज़्बात हैं मेरे,
वरना दिल-ए फ़क़ीर क्या जाने,
मेरी मुस्कान का राज़ है तू।

English Translation:
Kya Ho Tum (What do you mean to me?) (Title of the Poem)
Tumhein pata hai kaun ho tum (Do you know who are you for me)
Meri zindagi ki anchui parchayi ho tum (You are the untouchable shadow of my life)
Samajhta main bhi ajnabi tha tujhe (I too used to see you as a stranger)
Mila mujhe khud ka pata jab na tha (When I had not found myself)
Mili jab panah tere pyar ki (When I found shelter of your love)
Chod haqiqat sapno mei kho gaya (I got lost in dreams while forgetting the reailty)
Mila tera sath to apno ka ho gaya (When I got your company, I became closer to relatives)
Bitaye har ek pal gamo se door raha mai (While spending each moment with you, I forgot about all my sorrows)
Rehta jis guroor mei tha main (The pride in which I used to stay)
Us se door raha main (I became more humble)
Mujhe nahi pata kya seekha tumne mujhse (I do not know what you learnt from me)
Magar is dil ne seekha bahut tujhse (But, my heart learnt a lot from you)
Sapno ki haqiqat (The reality of dreams)
Haqiqat ka tootna (The shattering of dreams)
Zindagi ki sacchai (The truth of life) \
Aur dil ka ruthna (And the anguish of the heart)
Ab is se zyada kya bataye ye dil (Now, what more can my heart explain)
Pyar aur ibadat ki taleem ho tum (You are the teacher of love and worship)
Aj jana meri adhuri zindagi mei meetha savab ho tum (Today, I realized that your the best gift of my incomplete life)
Is dil ki nahi tum (You do not belong to this heart)
Upar wale ki pyari rachna ho tum (You are a beautiful creation of God)
Ye tareef nahi zubaa ki (This is not praise of words)
Bas wakya hai mere dil ka (It comes straight from my heart)
Rahe mere pas shayad wajah yahi hai mere sir jhukane ki (Your presence makes me more humble)
Rahe tu hamesha meri zarurat nahin mujhe ye batane ki (I do not need to tell you that I need you)
Yoon nigaho se nahi chaha kabhi tujhe (I never loved you with my eyes)
Ye dil tujhpe nisar tha (My heart fell for you)
Zindagi par kisi ka haq ye mujhe gawara na tha (I never wanted anyone to control my life)
Par pabandiya usoolo se achi hongi (But, limitations will be better than principles)
Ye waqt se zyada tune bataya tha (This was taught to me by you better than time)
Rahe us sone ki tarha jo dhal jata sanche mein (Be like gold that takes the shape of its container)
Rahu main us sanche jaisa dhale jiski aas mein (I want to be like the same gold and adapt)
Kyonki Maa to nahin magar zindagi ki antim sans hai tu (Because you are not my mother, but my least breathe)
Aj haqiqat ko jana (Today I became aware about the reality)
Zindagi ke har kinare ka sath hai tu (You are my support for life)
Ye shabd nahi jazbaat hai mere (These are not words, but my emotions)
Warna dil-ae-fakir kya jaane (Else my poor heart does not know)
Meri muskan ka raaz hai tu (You are the secret of my smile)
