बेशक गलती सिर्फ तेरी नहीं,
कुछ मेरी भी होगी
खामोश रातों में आंखें तेरी भी भीगी होगी
यकीन है हमें
तू भी तड़पा होगा भीगी पलकों के साथ
बीते लम्हों की तुझे भी याद आयी होगी

वो रातों की कुछ शरारतें
जिस में अक्सर नींदें खो जाया करती थी

कि किस कदर तेरी मुहब्बत में अक्सर आंखें भीग जाया करती थी

कविता का भावार्थ:
यह कविता एक प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी के विषय में लिख रही है। कविता का शीर्षक “गलती” यह बतला रहा है कि प्रेमिका को अपने प्रेमी के साथ सम्बद्ध टूट जाने पर बहुत अफ़सोस है। इसी कारण वह इस घटना को एक गलती बता रही है। प्रेमिका अपने प्रेमी को यह भी सन्देश दे रही है कि यह गलती केवल उसकी अकेले की नहीं, बल्कि दोनों की बराबर थी। कविता में प्रेम के मिलन की झांकी है एवं विरह की वेदना भी स्पष्ट दिखाई पड़ती है।
